LongStory Update and more! January 5, 2016

Happy New Year!

It's been a long while since my last post, but that doesn't mean plenty hasn't been happening! In fact it means a good plenty has been happening.

LongStory News!

LongStory episodes 3 and 4 are out on iOS and Android!

But what is the most super exciting thing to me by FAR is that a LongStory fan named Julianna did not only an excellent cover of my LongStory theme but an amazing video to accompany it! Honestly she does a fantastic job and has a better voice than me, haha!

I think the chords will be posted on the LongStory site soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Other Announcements!

In a neatly itemized list in no particular order:

  1. While I've mostly done freelance music work, I'm really excited to be starting and heading up Uken Games formal in-house audio team with the amazing sound designer and producer Gabriel Hauser. This is the result of a lot of hard work for both of us and I'm pleased as heck. We're a small duo but we get a lot done! I'm currently working on a soundtrack for a game in development, and it's a big departure from anything I've done before so I hope it turns out okay!

  2. Also, on December 30th, Gabe and I both gave talks at the Soundhackers meetup about Game Music and Sound. I was super excited to be invited to speak at the event, and gave a brief overview of Linear and Non Linear/Adaptive music. Matt Miller, a innovative and talented composer/sound designer also gave a great talk. I felt lucky to talk with and in front of fantastic people... thank you so much to Elliot Fienberg for the kind invitation and warm welcome. It was a great night.

  3. Finally, I've had the chance to collaborate with a musician I have a tonne of love and respect for, Halina Heron. We've done some work together for Kara Stone's upcoming game Ritual of the Moon. I've worked with Kara before and I love it; it's creatively freeing and a very positive experience. I've wanted to work with Halina for awhile, and I feel truly lucky to make music with her. She's creative and fearless. Kara has a patreon up right now that features Ritual of the Moon! https://www.patreon.com/karastone?ty=h

I feel so very lucky to work around such passionate, hard-working, generous and creative people. I feel like if I surround myself with people I like and admire then maybe I can be a bit more like them!
